Dairyland urges caution on Reservoir as spring approaches

March 2, 2020

Dairyland  urges caution to those who are using the Dairyland Reservoir in Ladysmith for recreational activities. The ice becomes unstable and dangerous as spring approaches.

As the spring run-off starts, Dairyland will be implementing a normal drawdown of between one to two feet, to help control levels during rapidly changing flows. The total drawdown could be as much as three feet, depending on the amount of additional precipitation and how quickly the snow melts.

DPC Supporting WI Governor’s Fishing Opener

Dairyland is sponsoring several events for Wisconsin’s 54th Governor’s Fishing Opener this year, being held in Rusk County from May 3-5.

The Governor’s Fishing Opener is held during the opening weekend of the Wisconsin hook and line fishing season, in a different location each year. Ladysmith will serve as the hub for Governor’s Fishing Opener activities, with fishing on the Dairyland Reservoir.
