Dairyland Power Announces Major Solar Energy Facility

Badger State Solar Project to be located in Jefferson County, Wis.

La Crosse, WI— Dairyland Power Cooperative has finalized a power purchase agreement with Ranger
Power for the proposed 149 megawatt Badger State Solar Project. Dairyland will purchase the entire
output of the planned solar photovoltaic facility, which is proposed on the land of participating private
landowners in the Towns of Jefferson and Oakland in Jefferson County, Wis.

EPRI Technology Award

Dairyland's, Supervisor, Load Management, Mitch Vanden Langenberg received the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI) Technology Transfer Award for the Energy Management Circuit Breaker project. 
“This project was a team effort between Dairyland and our member cooperatives,” said Mitch. “The award belongs to all who contributed their skills, time and resources. It was exciting for all of us to be part of next generation technology that has demonstrated the potential to benefit both energy consumers and utilities.” 

CPCN filed for Nemadji Trail Energy Center

To support the increased use of renewable energy resources, Dairyland and ALLETE’s Minnesota Power announced the proposed Nemadji Trail Energy Center, a combined cycle natural gas facility, in June 2017. Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) applications have been filed with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW). The filing can be viewed on the PSCW website,
