WPSC public meetings for Nemadji Trail Energy Center

As part of the regulatory process, the Wisconsin Public Service Commission will be holding public meetings regarding the proposed Nemadji Trail Energy Center in late October at the Belgian Club in Superior. The public meetings will be held on two consecutive days: Monday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m.; and Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. For anyone who cannot attend a hearing but would like to submit written comments, follow this link: http://apps.psc.wi.gov/vs2015/ERF/comment/filecomment.aspx?util=9698&case=CE&num=100

The Nemadji Trail Energy Center, proposed by Dairyland and Minnesota Power/ALLETE, is a 625 MW combined-cycle natural gas facility. Flexible and responsive, it will serve as the "power behind the power" supporting renewable energy investments.

Nemadji Trail Energy Center will be able to ramp up in minutes, providing a reliable backbone to the system at times when other resources are unable to produce adequate electricity to meet consumer needs. Proposed for operation in an industrial area of Superior, the facility will also be an economic engine for the northern region.

The plant is scheduled to be in service by 2025, contingent on approvals. For more information, see nemadjitrailenergycenter.com.
