Ben Porath was promoted to the position of Vice President, Power Delivery, on Feb. 2, 2015. Porath joined Dairyland as a Transmission Strategist on Sept. 22, 2003. He was promoted to Director, System Operations, in 2007.
As Vice President, Power Delivery, Porath is responsible for system operations and energy delivery (transmission lines, substations, telecommunications and real estate and right-of-way), business continuity and compliance.
A native of Sandpoint, Idaho, Porath has a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Hamline University and a Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law, both in St. Paul, Minn. Prior to joining Dairyland, he was a Project Manager for Open Access Technology International, Inc., (OATI) in Plymouth, Minn. He also held other positions related to transmission reliability for Perot Systems and the Mid-Continent Area Power Pool (now the Midcontinent Independent System Operator [MISO]) in the Twin Cities.
